Christos Menexakis began his apprenticeship in the sacred art of iconography about four decades ago. For the past thirty years he is a professional iconographer. Numerous creations are located Greek – Orthodox churches and in private collections in Greece as well as abroad. The majority of his artwork are wall paintings in churches and chapels in northern Greece. In some cases such as in the Cathedral of Thessaloniki and the church of Holy Trinity he collaborated with other artists. Despite his commitment to the Byzantine iconographic tradition he is not limited in copying classical subjects but through years he developed a unique personal style which is shown in his works.
